Flashing Lights, Cave In, Weakerthans, Grade

We ended up getting there pretty early, so we were able to snag some places right at the front of the stage. We met some people that were at the video shoot last week, so we hung out with them for a while. The first band, Grade, went on at about 9:15. They were really...umm..loud. The music was great, but it was hard to understand a lot of the singing, cause, well...it was mostly yelling, and the microphone seemed a little too low, considering the volume of the instruments. but all in all, they were pretty good. the guitarist and bassist were really cute, so that definetly helped :) The worst part of their set, however...was when the lead singer blew snot out of his nose and then flung it at the crowd...me and my friends, claudia and elise were pretty paranoid that it hit us, cause we were right in the path of it...and that was just sick.

the next band, Cave In, came on about an hour later, at 10:15. They were really cool...they were definetly my favourite out of the three bands that i didn't know (Flashing Lights don't count, cause they're the ones that i actually *went* to see). I ended up getting a half of the drummer's stick to add to my collection. (the drummer was a hottie!) *LOL, i'm really NOT a teenybopper!!* I really liked this band...they were really good. I think they were from Boston, or somewhere near there...

The Weakerthans came on at about 11:15. They were pretty cool too. At that point i was starting to get really tired of bands that i didn't know any of their songs, so i probably didn't give them the same energy that they deserved, but i really wanted the 'lights to go on.

Finally, at about 12:30, the Flashing Lights went on (they took a little longer to set up 'n stuff). While Steve was setting up his drums, we got to talk to him. he signed some stuff for us, and i handed him my autograph book on a blank page, but he flipped backwards, and signed on the same page as see spot run did a few weeks ago (why he did this? i have no idea) i asked him if i could have his drumstick, cause he told me i could have it last week, but i ended up having to leave early, and he told me that he thought he gave them to me last week, and i explained the situation, and he said "We'll see..." but i didn't end up getting the sticks anyways, cause i had to leave early again! (we missed the flashing lights theme song :() So anyways, they opened with "The Patient You Forgot to See" which sounded awesome, as did all of their songs! At one point, Matt ran across the front of the stage, right where we were standing, and we had our stuff (jackets, purses, bags 'n stuff) on the ledge. so he runs across the front, and i scrambled to take down my purse (cause i had my cell phone in there, and i didnt' want him to step on it) so i got my purse down safely, but he ran across me, and stepped on my jacket, and on half of my arm, and pinned it down for a while...but it was all very cool! :)

so then, during the encore, we figured out that we HAD to go, so i ran over to buy a cd (cause i couldn't find it in stores to buy it) so then i saw Ron, and i wanted to get his e-mail address, so i handed him a little book that everyone writes me notes in, and he started writing, but then Lauren kept bugging me that i HAD to go, so i had to stop him in the middle of a sentence, and then lauren basically dragged me out of there. (sorry ron!)

and that was pretty much the whole show!!
