Her head buzzed and pounded against her skull. So much so, she thought her brain was going to explode, and run a sticky mess against the yellow wall. Yellow wall? She sat up quickly and not to the agreement of her head, that screamed at her to lay, back down.
She couldn't lie back down though, because as much as her head ached, she had to know where she was. Had she been captured during the chase? Fuck. Had White finally gotten what he wanted?
Just as she tried unsuccessfully to stand, the door came flying open, sending her into attack mode, as she pounced on her intruder, successfully pinning him to the ground.
"Jesus Max! Is this what I get for rescuing you and keeping your ass out of one of White's cells?"
"Alec?" Max said, starring down, still hovered over him.
"I mean, if you wanted to thank me like this, all you had to do was ask." He winked, "I mean I know I'm pretty irresistible but you could have given me some advanced warning."
"Shut up, asshole."
"Oh touchy, touchy. No matter, we can just blame it on that nasty bump on your head."
"What nasty bump?" She asked, lightly touching her head. "Shit," she bellowed, when she came into contact with her bruised, puffy skin, sending shockwaves of pain through her system.
"Uh, Max as much as I love this position. We wouldn't want Logan to get the wrong idea, know what I'm saying?"
"Huh?"
"Get off me, girl!" Alec laughed against her ear.
Max looked down and realized that he was right. She tried to lift herself off of him, but was still weak. He held her hips and gently lifted her so she could grip the side of the counter and stand on her own. As soon, as he had done it, he instantly regretted it, as he was left with a cold, lonely feeling as her body left his.
"So what did you rescue me from?"
Alec slapped a cocky grin on his face. "Everything. Honestly though, how you feeling?"
"Dizzy." She told him honestly.
"Logan's getting some ice, I'm sure that will help. We thought you'd be knocked out a little while longer."
"Who's Logan?"
