February 5, 2005 It was a beautiful day today at Can Alley, 54 degrees and Jesus was shining! The first person to come along was Mike. We got a big wave from him from all the way down the alley. We had a good conversation with him. “I love these things – I look forward to Saturday’s”, he said regarding the potatoes. Mike has found some part time work and his ex-wife lets him come by and shower now and then. So, we are praying for some reconciliation there. Raymond was next down the Alley. We had a good conversation with him. He is looking forward to Miller Park opening up again as he can get some work cleaning up there. Raymond’s stomach was off so we are praying that God heals him. Next was someone new. Matt. This was a typical first time meeting; he didn’t quite know what to make of us. We gave him some potatoes and a Gospel and he was on his way. Don was back. We hadn’t seen him a long time. He is staying with a guy for $5/day and he has found a part time job. Thank you God!! Don said “I can’t keep living like this for ever” (pointing at his cart) He was very proud of himself for having a job. Carl was new too. This was a strange meeting – we will just pray that Carl gets things together and that Jesus comes into his life. Odel Jackson was new too. He happily accepted some potatoes and a Gospel. We hope to get to know him better in the future. Pastor Bill & Marilyn were by. Jodi had a good chat with them. We all need to pray that the Lord comes to Kevin. He was by and he looks very bad, worst than last week and that was bad. He seemed very depressed and is in a rush – no time for prayer. Please pray! The last 2 guy to come along were Jose and Moses. They were great and are coming to church with us tomorrow. Need I say more? I had a long talk with Bill (works at the depot). He is having some problems with his teenage son and just wanted to talk about it. Bill is going to bring his son to church. “At this point I will try anything – you can’t give up on your kids”. It was a really fantastic day at the alley – praise God. |
