| Well it has been far to long since I have update my half of the web site, so now I have to play catch up. Jesus has really been showing up at Can Alley. Our prayer circle has grown from 4 to 9 to 12 people. It is really amazing to see how God works. Just picture it, 12 homeless guys, Jodi, the kids and me all holding hands in a circle praying out loud and glorifying Jesus. Wow! I never thought I would be doing this. January 15, 2005 brought us back down to the Alley. It was bitter cold and not a lot of only 3 people showed up. We spoke with Mike, Kevin and Jimmy. Kevin really wanted prayer. We were able to lift him up and he went away praying Jesus. Jimmy is starting to open up a little. He is very shy and normally doesn’t talk much. However we did engage him in a 5 minute conversation. So things are looking up. This last week God has really been showing himself to us. As we left the Alley on January 8, 2005 we were talking about how some of the guy you wouldn’t know were homeless until they opened their mouths. We talked about bringing toothbrushes down. The next day we went to church and what does the Pastor say to us? I have a bunch of toothbrush, mitts, pants etc. for you guys to give out if you can use them. Praise God. Toothbrushes, what are the odds? Be blessed all. January 23, 2005 BLIZZARD!!!!, and we were out in it. Well Milwaukee got a foot of snow but we made our way down to the Alley anyway. We did meet Tony a blind guy that was trudging through the snow to return his cans. I helped him into the depot and after coming out he allowed Jodi and I to pray for him. We did have an encouraging word from Lee (the truck driver that works there). He said why are you guys here today – you don’t have to be – I have to be – I have to work – but you guys – why are you out in this weather. Just sharing the love of Jesus. I think we are making some inroads with Lee. If a picture speaks a 1000 word – I’m guessing that actions speak 10,000. God Bless. |
