To The Reader:
I first became interested in canaries early in
life as my mother raised up to 100 canaries each year. Since 1980, I have been
an avid breeder and exhibition of different kinds of canaries including:
- Song Canaries: German Rollers.
- Type Canaries: Norwich, Borders, Parisian
Frills.
- Color Canaries: Red Factor, Rose and Gold
Ivory, Yellow Lipochrome, Recessive White, Bronze, Agate, Isabel, Pastel,
Rose Melanin, Satinette, and Dimorphics in red, rose, yellow and melanin.
My aviary contains 200 plus canaries. At the
present, in addition to writing the Complete Canary Handbook - Canary Tales and
exhibiting, I am a judge of type and color-bred canaries. I have achieved a
master breeder status in both color-bred canaries and roller canaries and have
won a number of awards in type canaries. It is my desire to continue judging
type and color-bred canaries, writing informative articles, and to become a
roller judge.
It has been a pleasure sharing my experiences
and insights with you. If you have questions, other subjects that need to be
addressed or suggestions to make this book more helpful, please write to me at
