In October "Take On Me" is issued in UK. After a successful Norwegian
release out sells an approximate 300 copies.
April 1985: "Love Is Reason" their follow up in Norway, does not chart.
May: Slater has A-HA remake "Take On Me" with Alan Tarney as
producer, but it fails again. A-ha were again very depressed. In june the
trio splits up to spend summer in Oslo. So if a good management and a
good record company couldnīt help then, who could ?

To make matters worse, A-HA even found themselves almost making a pornoghaphic video to promote "Take On Me".They arrived on the set understanding that the idea of the video would be to show them reharsing
some girls watching them in the audience. The video was meant to climax
with A-ha as they drove off into the distance.
But A-HA were dreaming in other ideas, after all they werenīt some wild
heavy metal band.
USA Warner Label issues "Take On Me" and decides to spend 1000,000 dollars on a ground breaking (and later winning 11 MTV awards),
semi animated video directed by Steve Barron to help catch promotion time
on MTV.
Powered by Mortenīs soaring vocals "Take On Me", is a great song but it was also helped by a very unusual video, this time A-HA were going to do
things just right and they got in touch with video director Steve Barron,
who is widely recognised for his talent and his archivements include Michael
Jacksonīs "Billy Jean".
