Collaborator's note

It is important to note that this study was virtually completed
by the close of 1964. Our information was gathered at a
time when there was a good deal of sympathetic support for the
civil rights movement in this country, prior to the increasing
racial tensions of the past few years. Also, our data antedate the
six-day Arab-Israeli War of 1967 and the resultant wave of
sympathy for Israel in the United States. Thus the data,
obtained largely during the period 1963-64, reflect certain
political and social attitudes of the B'nai Khaim which may
have been modified by subsequent events both in this country
and in Israel.
