Samantha Lynn Phillips
This is Samantha. She was born June 30, 1996, weighing in at a big 3 1/2 pounds. You See, Samantha is special. She came in the world about 2 months earlier than she should have. After her birth, I did not get to see her for awhile, because of a severe situation, I had to have emergency surgery. I remember the Doctor coming into my room, waking me, stating that they were going to fly Sam to another hospital. About a half hour later, the life flight EMT's brought Sam into my room and introduced themselves. I cannot remember all that much, just that there was alot of wires here and there. At that moment, still being under anthesthia, I could not hold her, I layed my hand on her and prayed. No nurse would exactly tell me why they were flying her out. No one seemed to know. My Mom and Dad left me immediately to go to Geisinger, located in Danville, Pa. Before the evening was over, they came back to tell me that she was doing all right, only a little problem, she could not eat herself. She spent a week and half in the hospital and came home weighing 4 pounds. The Doctor, Dr. Malhotra, stated that for some reason she came early, he told me that if I had carried her the full 9 months, because of my condition, she would have died. She is a miracle child.
