NOAH W. PROPST was born 1831 in Greenbrier, Va.. He married Hester Ann on 1856 in Nicholas County, Virginia Enlisted 1861 Greenbrier County, paroled on April 25, 1865 Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia then age 30, fair complexion, dark hair, blue eyes, 5'10". Taken as a "bushwhacker" prisoner in December 1861 and March 1863, paroled. Noah Propst also served in Co. K, 14th Virginia Cavalry, recruited by Captain Eakle in 1861. Noah Propst was on a list of civilian prisoners taken by Federal forces held in West Virginia in March, 1862, charged with being a "bushwhacker". (Cousin to Eli Amick) He was present in Co.
