The Kansas Air Force One Project
AND THE
Present former N679MG as the SAM 27000 Air Force One Replica Exhibit
727-225 N679MG was built in 1982 as N820EA and was used for many years by Eastern then Northwest Airlines.  In the 2004 Presidential Election N679MG was used by the Kerry/Edwards Campaign. It then flew for Champion Air the next few years again as a full time NBA charter jet and part time NFL charter. July 2008 the front of the jet was purchased by The American Presidential Experince Center to be preserved as a replica of Air Force One SAM 27000. The flightdeck was left in the same 727 configuration as it was when used in the 2004 Presidential Election as the official Kerry/ Edwards campaign jet.

Conversion was carried out by the same team who made the 707 Air Force One simulator functional for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and who restored the Blue Angel/Thunderbird "Air Show Legends" simulators at the Kansas Museum of Military History. This website is to record the converion work made on the replica SAM 27000 Air Force One.
