ABOUT ME

For most of my life I've been interested in ships and the NAVY. I've built countless models (and sunk countless ones, too!), taken hundreds of pictures, and read many books about ships. I love to visit museum ships. I've traveled up and down the East Coast, and usually plan my vacation around a visit. One of my favorites is USS TORSK (SS423) in Baltimore, MD. I spend a lot of time aboard her as a volunteer, and I am also researching for a book on her.

When my brother Mike joined the Navy in 1989, it gave me a chance to spend some time aboard his ship, USS San Jacinto (CG56). I took a lot of pictures aboard her, so go see them!!

I also love to sail. I own a 1966 Cape Cod Gemeni 16 foot sailboat.

I have a 13 year old son named Charlie, and an 11 year old son named Tristan. I've been married for over 20 years. Fortunately, my wife doesn't mind my hobbies too much, though she does complain about the diesel smell when I come home from Torsk!!

Anyway, if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to e-mail me at gbohannon@usstorsk.org and let me know what you think!
