May I compliment you on one of the best and most informative sites on the web, bar none. One suggestion, a few lines about propeller development. I'll help if you like.
Favorite airplane? That's like picking a favorite child, impossable but here are a few of many I've learned to love.
Aronica Champion, 7AC. I soloed in one.
Fairchild PT-19. I pretended it was a fighter and had a ball.
The Beech D-18 / C-45. I think the handiest airplane ever built, a flying pickup truck.
PBY 5A - Slow, homely and dureable like a good plow hourse. To know it is to love it or hate it but you'll never forget it.
If I could own a WW 2 fighter it would be a F4U Corsair.
From a distance I have admired the C-130 as a most able and dependable aircraft, but I have never flown in one.
