Acadian Is On Rocks
At Sulphur Island

The Reid Wrecking Co. this morning received word to go to the assistance of the steal (sic) steamer Acadian, of the Merchants Mutual Transportation line of Toronto, which is on the rocks at Sulphur island near Alpena.

The Acadian is loaded with package freight and is a new boat. The steamer was caught in Sunday's storm and was evidently thrown up on the shore while trying to make port. Captain Tom Reid will today send the wrecking tug Manistique and the tug Sarnia City to the assistance of the Acadian. The boat will probably be brought to this port and the tugs will accompany her after her release, as she is in a disabled condition.

The tugs Manistique and the Sarnia City, of the Reid wrecking company will leave Sarnia tonight for Sulphur Isle where they will release the steamer Acadian which is hard aground at that place
