Steamer Hawgood Is
Released from Shore

The steamer Hawgood, which ran on the beach, near the Lake Huron hotel on the Canadian side during the storm of Sunday night was released by the tug Thompson and the lighter Newman last night. Owing to the position of the Hawgood, which was apparently high and dry, marine men ventured the opinion that it would be necessary to jack the steamer up in order to release her.

The Thompson began work on the Hawgood at three o'clock Thursday afternoon and at 9:30 o'clock last night she was towed into deep water. The boat apparently was not damaged, and tied up at Miller's coal dock this morning to take on fuel.
