9/00-1/03: Senior Staff Software Engineer – Conexant Semiconductor Systems, San Diego CA. Participated in developing software processes and guidelines. Developed client/server device validation system to validate the functionality of DS3/E3 devices. Server software included device driver software developed to execute on power pc vxWorks embedded and compact PCI platform. Client side software was written in Perl, C, C++, MFC, XML. Also wrote tools in Perl to automate generation of device drivers. Completed Microsoft .NET Developers Training Tour.

9/99-9/00: Senior Software Engineer – Conexant Semiconductor Systems, Developed IP DiffServ traffic shaping software for Conexant OC-48 network processor. Software written in assembly language.

11/96-9/99: Senior Software Engineer - Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, Boulder CO. Developed traffic generator/checker test software to verify hardware functionality of ATM SAR devices. Software written in C/C++, developed on HP workstation and executed on i960 vxWorks platform. Developed GUI application written in C/C++ using Motif. Also developed GUI application written in JAVA.

 

Sony Transcom Int.

11/95-8/96: Network Software Engineer - Sony Transcom Int., Irvine CA. Developed Network device drivers for Firewire/ATM "Video on Demand" airline system. The network device drivers were developed for Windows 95 and Windows NT.  Also developed "windows NT"(WDM) device drivers for airline system interface cards. Developed application software using Rational Rose, MFC and COM.

Hughes Aircraft Company

6/91-11/95: Network Software Engineer - Hughes Aircraft Company, Fullerton CA.  Developed real-time, multitasking, networking software for high speed FDDI LAN communication, supporting multiple networking protocols include OSI, TCP/IP, and XTP.  Also developed device drivers for HP-RT. Programmed in C/C++ using CASE tools and structured design methodologies on SUN and HP workstations.  Software executed under Solaris, HPUX, HP-RT (LynxOS), and vxWorks operations systems.

3/91-6/91: Communications Software Engineer - Hughes Aircraft company, Fullerton CA.  Acted as technical liaison to Dahlgren Navy Station.  Assisted with NTDS to FDDI feasibility study.  Designed and integrated FDDI network driver. Gave vxWorks and networking technical support. Developed on SUN in C for Motorola single board computers running vxWorks.

12/90-3/91: Software Design Engineer - Hughes Aircraft Company, Fullerton CA. Developed 3D graphics "X Window" demonstration software using satellite images for Navy League Convention. Developed on SUN in C for Motorola single board computers running vxWorks.

3/87-6/89: Software Design Engineer - Hughes Aircraft Company, Fullerton CA.  Developed timing verification to analyze timing parameters of digital logic circuits. Developed on IBM PC, programmed in C for IBM PC.

6/82-3/87: Digital Design Engineer - Hughes Aircraft Company, Fullerton CA.  Designed graphics engine for military combat system display console.  The design include a hardware graphic engine and 29116 bit slice processor.  Supported firmware design and integration of bit slice code. Had a secret clearance.

Honors / Activities

Collected data for Nebraska Solar Energy Survey containing detailed description of solar energy homes in eastern Nebraska area.  Project manager of passive solar heating project and annual cycle cooling project at University of Nebraska Passive Solar Energy Test Site.
