The Southern Industrialization Project (SIP) is an association which brings together scholars from a variety of academic disciplines who share an interest in the study of industrialization in the American South. SIP charges no dues, but maintains an active e-mail discussion network, sponsors meetings of members at appropriate professional conferences (the Southern Historical Association, the Economic History Association, etc.), and holds its own annual meeting.
