 1706Battle of Frauenstadt. In 15 minute battle, 10,000 Swedes defeat 20,000 Russians and Saxons. Swedes claim to have retrieved 7,000 loaded muskets from the battlefield.
 1762Admiral Rodney with veteran British troops overwhelmed the island of Martinique. Treaty of Paris, 1763, restored the island to the French.
 1805The Battle of Austerlitz.
 1817Battle of Chacabuco. Chileans defeat Spanish royalists.
 1817Battle of Chalchuapa. Chileans defeat Spanish near Santiago which led directly to Chilean independence.
