 1779Battle of Kettle Creek. American militia surprised and defeated Tory militia.
 1797First Battle of Cape St. Vincent. Sir John Jervis takes on Spanish fleet over twice his size and resoundingly defeated them. For this action, Jervis became Lord St. Vincent.
 1943American II Corps resoundingly defeated at Kasserine Pass, Tunisia. Following battle, George Patton was given command of the Corps.
