 1062Battle of Komatsu. After twelve days of continual sword combat, Imperial troops under Yoriyoshi defeat rebels led by Sadatoki.
 1600Battle of Segikahara. Tokugawa Tyeyasa, Japanese Shogun routed 130,000 rebels under Mitsunori.
 1763Battle of Oondwa Nullah. 3,000 British storm fort held by Mir Cossim and 60,000 men with 100 guns.
 1862Battle of Harper's Ferry. Stonewall Jackson surrounded the Federal garrison and forced its surrender.
 1919The American Legion is incorporated.
 1950American marines land at Inchon, Korea.
