 1522Famine compelled the Knights of Saint John to surrender Rhodes to Suleiman, the Magnificent. Siege was the first to utilize explosive bombs (Turks).
 1620Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock.
 1807British take island of Saint Thomas from the French.
 1808Battle of Molinos del Rey. French routed Spanish force lifting the Spanish blockade of Barcelona.
 1817Battle of Mahidput. 5,500 British cross the river Spira under fire and rout Mahrattan army of 30,000 cavalry and 5,000 infantry.
 1893Italians defeat Mahdists at Battle of Agordat.
