British Cruiser Tank, Mk VI, Crusader (A15)
Crusader I

Crusader tanks were used extensively in the Western Desert until withdrawn in May 1943. As originally built, the tank sported a machine gun turret in the left front of the hull. This feature proved to be of limited tactical value and was discontinued with the production of the Crusader II (Cruiser Tank Mk VIA).
While the Germans respected the Crusader tanks for their speed, they were too lightly armed and armored to stand up to the PzKw IIIs, its main desert opponent.
