IN the Southwest of the Dominican Republic, you can ride with the Caribbean Sea one side, the bayahonda trees, or Cactis, the other side.
This is the original landscape. No coconut trees. Those came later from...guess where? The Philippines! That cliché of white sands, blue waters and coconut trees is man-made.

Since you are still pedaling in the tropic in January, perhaps at 80°F -maybe more- the advantage of the Southwest is that you are allowed to take Mangos or Papayas from the nearby trees by yourself anytime. |
