| Conclusion Based on the catalogue evidence: The Schmetterling vase was made in the 1930s with an all over matt (frosted) treatment The Schmetterling vase was made later, certainly in the 1960s, in a "partially matted" treatment (figure is matt rest of vase isn't) An all matt treatment on Walther items is not, by itself, indicative of more recent production. |
