KIMBA THE WHITE LION original Japan airdates: (as 'Jungle Emperor') Oct 1965-1966 on Fuji TV original US airdates: Sept 2, 1966-1969 in syndication later airdates: 1971-Oct 1978 in syndication, 1993-present in syndication episodes: 52 animated by: Mushi Productions distributed by: NBC Films (1966-1971), National Telefilm Associates (1971-1978), limbo/courts (1978-1993), Worldwide (1993-present) created by Osamu Tezuka NOTE: The first color produced Anime cartoon by Mushi Productions, co-developed for Japan and US audiences. After NBC/NTA's rights to the series expired in 1978, the show was to revert back to Mushi Productions, but the company had gone bankrupt. The series was tied up in courts for years and locked in a vault, until a solution was resolved. In 1993 Worldwide, a Canadian syndication company, bought the series and in order to avoid legal issues, redubbed the series and produced new music for it.
