Ciron Balvanz has had a highly decorated career has a Knight of the Lions Crest. He served under King Ulmerad for many years as a trusted friend and skilled knight. Though he has retired from front line battle, his three sons have taken his place. He now spends his time helping young squires attain the rank of knight they so greatly desire. Ciron is a strict teacher and a proud man. His aging has not stopped him from his daily routine of training, and he claims to be just as good as any of the younger knights around. True, his skills are impressive, but his health problems cause him trouble, and his pride his very sensitive. His wife never forgave him for training his boys to become the soldiers they are, instead of the artisans she wanted them to be. His heart is ravaged with guilt now, and it is slowly eating him alive.
