Warner
-- by Leah Cardaci

Position: Leader of Octavium's armed forces

In Istera Warner was a messenger for the king. He traveled all over the kingdom, and saw much of the kingdom in his work. He couldn't help but notice that many of the people were having trouble feeding their families. Warner tried to shake off the feeling of unease that he felt when traveling through unproductive farmlands and saw the situation of the villagers in those places.

After having his worried questions be brusquely dismissed by a superior, Warner resolved to put the matter aside. Yet one day when he walked by a girl speaking of the things he had feared, Warner couldn't help stopping and asking her all of the question he had held back. Cecilia, the girl Warner heard talking, confirmed his worried speculation, the kingdom's crops were decreasing, and the land was increasingly infertile. People were beginning to go hungry all through the land, yet the nobles seemed unwilling to address the problem. Few would even admit it existed. Warner kept in touch with Cecilia after that, and when she told him of the group that were going to search for a new land to live in, he immediately wanted to join them.

After they landed in Skyllar, Warner was one of the few Isterans that right away wanted to aid the Aureners. He helped Rhonauld convince the other Isterans to fight the invaders. Warner showed great skill in battle that surprised many, even himself. After Octavium's founding, Warner became the leader of the kingdom's army.

Warner has worked painstakingly to improve Octavium's army. He is dedicated towards making sure that the kingdom can defend itself. It is Warner's goal to ensure that Octavium will never be pushed back and surrounded the way Istera was. While Rhonauld understands Warner's reasoning and agrees to an extent he worries that Warner may be taking things too far. The Aurener nobles that watch Octavium's rapidly growing army with wariness also worry about Warner's zealousness.
