Shay is getting to be *so* tired of getting stuck.  She has't been feeling very well for the past few days - nausea, being very tired, just a low grade 'ickiness', and when we went to the clinic this morning they decided that on top of the cytogam infusion she as already scheduled for, that she would need fluids (since she's not drinking enough again and it is messing with her kidney functions).  That meant a stick for bloodwork, and then a good enough stick to run a total of 7 hours of infusion through.  They poked and prodded that poor girl about 4 different times, but finally got a good vein in the thumb of her right hand.  It is still in, because she *may* need fluids again later in the week.  Dr. Eames said that if the nausea doesn't go away soon, they are going to refer her to a gastroenterologist and probably do an upper GI.  After Cassies' experience with that last year, I haven't mentioned it to Shay - she would *not* be happy.  It could be the GVH or it could be a lingering effect of the chemo/transplant or it could be half a dozen other things.  Hopefully,  it will clear up soon.

Of course, this means that we'll be held up going home.  Latest estimate is the 4th or 5th of next month (that is the earliest it could possibly be).  Oh well - I guess we're getting used to this place <G>

With everything that has happened in the US this past week, I feel so guilty about getting upset that we have to stay.  I have been saying prayers for the people who lost their lives in the disaster on the east coast and saying a word of thanks for those who are now in the process of trying to deal with the aftermath.  They are true heros.
