CFC managed too put there current financial worries behind them and put in a hugely professional perfomace too secure a 5-5 draw in the second leg of the very first Glasugate Cup..
Castlegate never looked like winning the game so they played a game too frustrate there opponents, with no player looking like playing anywhere near their best they played as a formiddable defensive unit.
The ever more prolific Norton managed to bag a hatrick in the first half giving Castlegate a 3-1 half time lead despite not playing there best football, but it was Glasubalti who came out strong in the second half and managed to pull it back to 3-3 early on, only for a Peden to fire a scorcher and a well taken goal from the ever improving Coates made it 5-3 to the home side.
Glasubalti once again responded well and made it 5-5 and never stopped looking for those four extra goals but they had no luck getting past the impressive oliver, making fine save after fine save. The final whistle blew and Castlegate picked up their first trophy less than a year after being formed. This victory in the cup came as no surprise, CFC were the better team over the two legs.
