Disclaimer: Castlevania belongs to Konami, not me. I am making £0.00 out of this fic, it is written purely because I have a burning need to create. Although I would like to own Joachim. . . then he’d be mine, my own pet Joachim *happy sigh* ^_^ *coughs* my birthday is on . . .

Warning: it has to be said . . . . this fic contains YAOI (GuyXGuy), if this offends or upsets you do not read this, it’s that simple.

If you choose to avoid any of these things the back button is right there for your use and I hope you find what you are looking for. By continuing you are acknowledging the above information and accepting it.

Chapter Three

{Joachim}

It was everything and nothing, loud yet quiet, light and yet it was dark.

He felt light, like his body weighed nothing, yet it took an immense amount of effort to move his fingers, to look down at himself. He was surrounded by white nothingness, by pure white light, yet he himself glowed brighter. The blinding pain that had ripped through his entire self only a moment ago was now a fading memory, now there was no sensation only that fading memory. Emotion had faded also; he was not frightened any more, he was not sad and nor was he angry, there was nothing save from a deep feeling of relaxation and peace.

He allowed himself to float contently in the silent abyss of white nothingness, peaceful and calm, there was no sound of his own heartbeat, no pounding of blood that had near deafened him a moment ago, now it was peaceful and quiet and he floated, until he was disturbed by a light brighter than his own, the brighter light was near blinding yet it caused him no pain, in his mind pain was a myth. Looking upwards he saw something that would have made his heart stop if he still had a heartbeat.

The light was shapeless at first, purely made of light, no form or shape touched it. But slowly right in front of him the light began to twist and bend, molding itself into a shape. A beautiful creature, it stood tall, naked and beautiful, great wings made from light rather than feathers spread behind him. It was a genderless creature with long golden hair that reached it ankles; it smiled at him and reached out a single hand.

An angel.

He wanted to be with the shining creature, he needed to be with it. But as he willed himself towards it a great darkness invaded the light, the angel coward back from it for a moment before shining brighter trying to drown the darkness. Yet the darkness did not die, it fought against the angel.

“You shall not have him, he is mine!” the darkness spoke and he thought for a moment he recognized the voice the darkness used.

Then the angel fell and there was only darkness again.

Tenderly Joachim opened his eyes; pain exploded behind his eyes and burned into his brain, the dull candle light to much for his fractured vision to cope with. Letting out a broken cry he shut his eyes feeling wetness build behind them, he was unsure weather it was tears or blood. He felt a cool pressure on his eye lids and sighed as the pain ebbed away, he heard the hiss of a candle and felt the cooling darkness.

He opened his eyes

It took him a moment to focus but he realized he was staring at the embroidered cloth of a coat. Looking up and wincing at the pain it caused he recognized Walter, eyes closed resting in the darkness, he appeared a fallen angle in the dim moonlit room. Suddenly a pain coiled in his gut spreading like lightening through him, twisting his insides in ways not meant for them, he cried out softly.

“You are dying Joachim” Walter spoke softly, bright red eyes opening, glowing in the dim light, cold breath brushing against Joachim’s nose, he paused momentarily and ran cold hands up and down Joachim’s back “such beauty should not have to perish”

“Dying” Joachim managed, to his shame his words came out in a wheeze

“I am not strong enough to fight the Light for you again” the flame haired vampire looked pained “you must decide now, you do not have to die”

Walters’s words confused the human but in truth he knew what the vampire was offering, he cried out again as a spasm of pain lashed through him,

“I do not want you to die” Walter gripped his shoulders and pulled them both into a sitting position, Joachim screamed at the pain such an action caused, it felt as though something had ripped his stomach open. “Please lovely one come with me, do not die forever”

The vampire was almost begging, surprise overrode the all consuming pain for a second and it struck Joachim that this daemon really might care for him. He whimpered and bit down on his tongue to stop the pain and nodded, if it would stop this agony he would agree. He felt arms wrap around him and he was lifted, the pain which had been a throbbing agony suddenly became sharp and impossible to ignore, Joachim cried out again burring himself against Walter shirt.

Only second later he was gently lowered into warm water, he tied to open his eyes and managed that half way, he watched silently as he was stripped of his clothing and wounds were revealed. He gasped at the chaos of his stomach, it was like someone had cut his skin away and pulled softer parts of him out, yet the wound was not bleeding heavily as it should have, he knew he was dying but surely he should already be dead.

“My magic holds you together tender one” Walter whispered into his blood soaked hair, “yet it is weak at giving life, I can only kill, I will kill you to bring you back forever”

“Wa . . . water” Joachim managed Walter managed a smile but it was pained

“You will remain as you are now forever, you will heal but if the wound is infected it will be like that forever, I do not create new life, I simply freeze you where you are now, I do not want you in pain eternally, my young one”

The vampire lifted handfuls of water and carefully rises all the wounds clean until they bled fresh clean blood,

“You will die now and live with me” Walter whispered against soft wet blond hair “eternal and deadly”

The deep calm of death was quickly sweeping over Joachim; his eyes drifted closed but suddenly snapped open when he felt teeth cut into him, cruel and painful, for one complete moment pain unlike any other coiled inside him and every thing inside him clenched. Then the moment was gone and a painful pleasure raced through him like a razorblade clean and sharp, a deep throb began from the point on his throat where Walter’s teeth had pierced him and slowly it spread becoming more powerful with ever pulse.

It felt like he had swallowed Walter’s heart and now held it within himself. But still the pulses grew stronger until every one jolted his body forcing it to rise upwards before crashing back down only to rise again, water spilled out from the bath tub, splashing across the floor. Still the pleasure grew until it melted into pain, the pain pulsed in time with Walters’s heart, gaining speed, he whimpered feeling every muscle in his body clench and relax in time to Walter’s heart which was gaining speed.

Then as all things do it stopped suddenly abruptly, he felt empty and alone, he would have wept if he’d had the strength to do it, he did not want to return to the unfeeling abyss, not when he’d felt sensation so intense, no! Not now!

Warmth touched him, forcing his mouth open before more warmth reached inside of him. The golden gush of blood almost caused him to choke but some how he prevented it, swallowing draught after draught, he could feel the warmth turn to burning inside of him spreading through his body racing down his arms and legs, down into his very organs. He could feel himself become stronger. The same pulsing began again, his arms that he was now strong enough to lift rose upwards, one wrapping around Walter’s shoulders the other tearing at the shirt he wore, trying to beater his feeding.

He felt the softness of the bed beneath him before he opened his eyes. Looking down he gasped, he was able to see the finest detail, able to make out the individual stitches on the ornate tapestries across the room, he could hear everything, thousands of noises coming from below and above him yet he felt completely safe here on these soft sheets.

Walter lay next to him and smiled, silently marveling at the beauty he had created, surely not, such beauty could only create itself. He reached forwards moving a blond strand of hair away from his fledgling’s eyes getting Joachim’s attention. The ashen fledgling looked at his flame haired creator and smiled.

“You saved me” he whispered, Walter shook his head

“I killed you” he paused “I do not know why I gave you the choice, I have never given it to anyone, and always I have taken what I wanted and given what I chose to give, never before have I asked” he gently ran ungloved fingers through smooth silver hair and smiled “you are perfect, my beautiful love”

“You love me now . . . even more than before” Joachim asked amazed

“Oh yes” Walter grinned “I cannot hurt you now simply by touching you, I do not have to be so careful for you are mine, of my flesh and of my blood completely and wholly mine”

Walter leaned forwards pulling his smaller fledgling towards him, resting his chin on Joachim’s head. This one was truly wonderful, beautiful, and sharp witted. This one was his, it would become his in every way, completely his.

“Mine” he whispered against blonde hair

“Yours” Joachim replied. All thoughts of the accident, his human life, his family were evaporating from his mind like rain on a hot road, all that mattered now was Walter, there was nothing else.

Walter sat up suddenly and slid from the bed to his feet, smiling widely he turned

“Once more, small one as it will strengthen you, the blood of mine will always make you stronger” he grinned “it is not a gift I give lightly”  he tilted his head offering his throat and eagerly Joachim accepted, kneeling on the soft mattress, tiny newly formed fangs tearing at the soft white skin. Walter laughed suddenly, and it was sweet, a helpless laugh as draught after draught of his blood was taken from him, stumbling he fell to his knees, his head spinning and still he laughed.

Out into the cold night his laughter echoed.

The End

Authoress note: not the ending I had originally envisioned but the original ending would have been daft.
