Disclaimer: Castlevania belongs to Konami
not me. I am making £0.00 out of this fic, it is written purely because I have
a burning need to create. Although I would like to own Alucard . . . then he’d
be mine.
Warning: this fic contains really Light YAOI (GuyXGuy), blood play and vampires (is this a necessary
warning for a Castlevania fic?). However although the first few chapters are
very easy going the later chapters
include, Heavy Yaoi, Violence and discussing of sensitive subjects.
Rating: NC-17
Authoress note: I have changed aspects. I am
aware Alucard’s eyes are a soft grey-ish colour, I was however inspired to
change this as I have been before in my other fics.
Dracula is called Vladimir.
I know this does not fit with history but I am not using true history, I am
using my Castlevania symphony of the night manual and that says Vladimir. Plus I like the
name Vladimir
better than just Vlad.

Chapter Five
Death, feeling a slight unease at his Lords obvious worry makes his way
silently up a stone spiral staircase and enters into a plush room. Lord Dracula
Vladimir Tepes is kneeling on a four poster bed over a sleeping form, his head
resting lightly on the others chest, pail locks spilling around him.
“My Lord?” Death asks, Vladimir
looks up a small smile gracing his features
“He has a heart beat” he says his voice echoing with pride and amazement
as if he cannot believe his son would have a heart beat.
“My lord I assured you he was not dead” Death mutters insulted that Vladimir would doubt him
“I did not doubt you” Vladimir
nods knowing Death’s thoughts “but . . .
my son has a heart beat”
Death was confused why such a simple humane trait would amaze the lord
of the undead.
“A heart beat” Vladimir
repeated still as if he could not believe this “he’s immortal and yet at the
same time mortal, mortal and immortal not one or the other, the perfect balance,
perfect, my son is perfect”
Vladimir was
rambling now but death was beginning to understand what he was talking about.
When he made no reply Vladimir
brought his head back down to his son’s chest and his smile widened
“I can hear it, come here listen” Vladimir
gestured to Death to come nearer
“My lord I . . .” Death was cut short as the sleeping form on the bed
made a sluggish sound and tried to roll over “I do not want to wake him after
he has suffered so”
“Oh yes of course” Vladimir
nodded and moved away from his son and sat down next to the bed.
Vladimir watched
the sleeping form of his child and allowed his clawed hand to brush his Childs
face, he was warm. Warm, not the heat of a human but not the coldness of the
undead, just warm. Vladimir
smiled and placed his cold palm against his son’s temperate forehead.
Death turned about to leave when Vladimir’s
voice stopped him
“They took him from me, but I found him, he’s mine again, I’m never going
to let anything happen to him”
Death nodded part of him wished he could understand his lord, his lords
utter protectiveness of his child, he wished he could understand what it felt
like to be a father.
Death’s train of thought was interrupted by a quiet moan, Vladimir moved like
liquid lightening as his son’s eyes opened slowly, unfocused.
“Adrian”
Adrian frowned
confused not recognizing his surroundings, his eyes fell to his father and a
slight recognition was there
“I . . . I know . . . you” was the almost silent statement his voice
sounded broken, hurt, his throat raw
Vladimir said
nothing for a moment but nodded before speaking
“It took me so long to find you; I thought you were lost to me . . . Adrian”
Vladimir reached
forward to move his son’s hair away from his eyes, Adrian blinked up at him, eyebrows scrunched
together thinking hard
“You are home” Vladimir
smiled

When he first
awoke his mind was foggy and he was to say the least, slightly confused. But this
strange place seemed more comforting than anything Adrian had ever seen before, he knew deep
down that he was home, even although he had a strange man peering over me like
he was the most fascinating thing in creation and behind him hovered a skeletal
creature, still Adrian
found himself unafraid.
Adrian even found
himself beginning to accept the more demonic side of his nature although the
thought of killing people did not come easily.

“It
is your heritage” Vladimir
sighed looking at the absolute fear in his sons eyes
“Your
. . . your lying” Adrian
was frozen solid even as Vladimir
wrapped his arms around him, “as the son of a vampire, my son you to bear the
curse” Adrian
was paralysed he was in the . . . arms
of a . . . vampire.
The
paralysis fell away, and immediately he began to struggle, trying to pull
himself away from his father’s embrace. Vladimir squeezed his
son’s supple frame tighter.
"Adrian," said Vladimir, quietly but
firmly, "Stop struggling. Adrian.
Stop it now."
Unable
to argue against the unbreakable grip that held him, Adrian unwillingly gave in, unfortunately he
could not stop the quiet sobs that escaped him, Vladimir’s grip tightened slightly, one hand
gently moving in what was an obvious soothing motion on Adrian’s lower back and the second gently
wrapped around the back of Adrian’s
head and held Adrian
to him.
“Please
don’t cry . . . I’ll look after you” Vladimir’s
voice was back to the soft purr and although he tried not to, Adrian found himself wanting to believe what Vladimir said.
The
quiet sobs grew quieter and soon became silent, but his body still shook.
Eventually and unwillingly Adrian
gave into exhaustion and Vladimir
stood, leaving the room that held his trembling child.

“My
lord?” Death asked spotting the severely distressed expression on the lord of
darkness’ face, Vladimir
approached his chair and collapsed into it, his eyes hollow, it was a few minuets
before he spoke
“I
told him” he said flatly “I told him what I am, what we are and what he is”
“Yes
my lord” Death nodded already taking a good guess to the Dunpeals reaction
“It
was like you said” Vladimir
put his head into his hands
“It
was too soon to tell him my lord, the child just escaped death, and you must
allow him to recover from that trauma before inflicting more”
“He
knew what he was before, he came here all the time, he loved me, why now does
the mention of his kind drive him to tears my faintest touch drive him to
hysterics”
“Give
him time my lord, time will heal him”

Vladimir found himself for the second time
in his long life feeling grief and it was for the same person. The grief he
felt at the death of Lisa and the initial lose of his son and now here he was
feeling grief again over his son. It amazed him that he could feel like this,
as he walked up to the room he had given his son he even found his hands
shaking ever so slightly.
“Adrian” Vladimir opened
the door slightly and glanced in his son sat up on the bed holding his legs to
him, curled up. He looked to Vladimir
with red ringed eyes.
“I am sorry about what
happened” Vladimir moved into the room and sat on the bed next to his son, “I
searched for you the evening it happened but the humans were faster you had
been taken from this land before the sun had set”
“What?” Adrian asked so quietly Vladimir almost didn’t hear him,
“The humans have warped
your mind, created an imbalance in your soul”
“Please stop” Adrian whispered resting
his forehead on his knees “please stop this madness”
“My child it is not
madness it is who you are deep down you know that” Vladimir sighed
“I am not some undead
monster” Adrian
spat
“I know, by rights you
shouldn’t even exist” Vladimir looked to his child, Adrian was confused surly
the words were cruel but the tone of his fathers voice was not, Vladimir
wrapped his arms around his son’s lithe frame and held tight “usually Dunpeals
die or go mad, many become full vampires to escape the madness but you . . .”
Vladimir kissed his sons forehead “you are the perfect balance, the perfect
dunpeal, immortal and so totally mortal at once”
“Dunpeal” Adrian whispered “this is
why I enjoy hurting people” Vladimir
smiled wider and made a delighted sound
“No child we do not hurt
them, kill them sometimes but not hurt them unless we intend to”
“I killed Artemis”
“Did he fight you” Vladimir asked
“He loved me, he wouldn’t
of fought me” Adrian
closed his eyes trying to force himself to feel some form of guilt but he
remembered only bliss. Vladimir
moved closer to his child, pushing gently so Adrian uncurled
“I can prove to you the
joy we give them”
Vladimir’s voice had changed it had become
lower, quieter almost a whisper. Vladimir
pulled back slightly to look at his child and it hurt to see the fear and
mistrust in his child’s eyes but he lowered his head anyway. Gently nudging Adrian’s head aside, he
felt the tension in his child; it was as if his son had become a frozen wraith.
“Please relax” he
whispered if anything his child tensed further
Vladimir soothingly placed his closed mouth
to his son’s throat he could feel the pulse fluttering wildly against his lips,
and he wondered for a moment how could his son be anything more than fully
human. His tongue flicked out tasting, he marvelled at how his child tasted so
. . . warm, slightly salty, and human. Adrian
relaxed a little in his arms.
Vladimir tasted again, kissing flesh and
felt how his child moved, relaxing more so, until all the muscles had loosened,
the fear was still there but it was slight and diminishing quickly, Adrian lazily wrapped his
arms around Vladimir’s
neck.
“Father” Adrian whispered for the
first time in his life
“Child” Vladimir replied biting down gently
Vladimir felt his
child’s trembling become a shiver and he tasted Adrian, an exquisite mix of
life and death, life forced itself from his son and poured into Vladimir with
more force than Vladimir had ever felt before, he felt his beast stir at the
new sensations, so powerful, only his iron self-control kept him from giving
himself over to the feeling and unleashing his beast, allowing it to overwhelm
him.
Vladimir groaned audibly, feeling his son
beneath him, his short, sharp breathing, the movement of his body, the rapid
pulsing of his heart, all combined caused Vladimir
to groan.
Adrian shuddered under the sweet flare of
pain that changed instantly to a barrage of amazing sensations, rocketing
through him like they had before, causing him to tremble and grip his father
tighter, he could hear the vocal sounds coming from his father and delighted in
them. His father was right it did work both ways.
He felt the purr that
reverberated through his fathers form. It was something there were no words for
that cause Adrian
to almost silently beg for this to keep going, he felt safe, loved and the
emptiness in him was filling in a way it never had before. He belonged here.
Vladimir sat up pulling
his child with him, holding them together all but painfully before he pulled
back Adrian collapsed, almost drained, his pale skin translucent as he lay
there gasping for breath, his eyes closed. Vladimir placed a hand on his son’s forehead.
There were advantages to him being not quiet human.
As Adrian
lay, unable to get up, he opened his eyes and looked up at his father with
bright purple eyes that glowed with an inhuman light. Vladimir watched as his son’s eyes changed
from soft lavender to a blood red, finally Vladimir thought to himself something
immortal.
“Father” Adrian smiled
“You’ve never called me that before; even when you were small you never
called me father”
“Oh”
“I like it”
“Father”
“Child”

That was
the point in time where Adrian
accepted what he was, but still he reused to kill, “I just can’t bring myself to
do it, I’m sorry”. The father hated humans with a passion but Adrian’s memory of his childhood was still
clouded, he had no negative memories of the humans. All he remembered was
Artemis, Marianne and their kindness.
He did not
remember his mother’s fate, he knew she had been murdered by humans, the father
told him but Adrian
had not yet gotten his memory back of that event.
His memory
of some things was returning though, he remembered Samuel completely, for which
they were both glad, the two of them became as close as ever they were before, Samuel
even tried to understand Adrian’s respect for human life.
Adrian believed he could never let go of
his respect for human life.
