ABOUT ME
I'm guessing some of you have just come across this page by chance so don't know who I am so here is a page about myself and my interests.

My name is Claire, I'm 21 and from the United Kingdom. I'm currently in my final year at university studying Consumer Studies with the aim of going on to study to become a Home Economics teacher. Ultimately I want to become an educational psychologist as I also have a love for psychology but that is still a long way off.
Apart from studying I very obviously have a keen interest in computers and the internet else I wouldn't be designing this site. I have found that it is important to have something outwith my studying which will keep me engaged and stop me from being bored. As someone who has a mental health difficulty I wanted to reach out to others and help in some way.
I also have a love of music both listening to (pop, musicals, classical, easy listening) and playing. I am a keen pianist/organist and play at my local church, if anyone needs an organist for a wedding or funeral(my speciality this year, having played at two funerals in the past month).
As I said I play music at church. I am a practising catholic and I have found that my faith has been a great help and strength to me in keeping going over the years. If anyone wants to talk to me as a fellow christian please do email me. Even if you're not religious then I'm still here to listen.
Okay, finally my mental health. I was originally diagnosed with Clinical Depression and Anxiety at the tender age of 16 after 3 years of pain and suffering. It was at 16 I first got to see a Clinical Psychologist though before that I was getting counselling from people at school. I was just too much for the school to cope with so effectively I was suspended on health and safety grounds for a few weeks until they worked out what to do with me. I had the option to go to a Young People's Unit but I refused because I was scared. I was seen by a child psychiatrist for a while and tried various medications but so far nothing has really helped.

I have made it through the years with the help of many good friends, a lovely GP and some good therapists. I have recently just been assessed again by a new psychiatrist and been given a provisional diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder, for those of you who don't know what that is then please check out my information page. I am currently in weekly psychotherapy and waiting to be put on medication to control my moods. You can keep up-to-date with what's going on in my life by checking my diary page which I'll update as often as I can.
