Legolas was born to Thranduil, the King of Elves Of Northern Mirkwood,somewhere around 241, the exact date of his birth is unkown.His father was of Sindarin orgin but moved eastward, thus his rule of the Woodland Elves in Mirkwood.Sent as a messenger to Lord Elrond of Rivendell, Legolas attended the council that determined the fate of the One Ring.During the quest, an unlikely, life- long friendship formed between Legolas and Gimli the Dwarf.Once the friendship started,one was rarely seen without the other, and they infact, ended up together as the last surviving memebers of the Fellowship. Each memeber of the Fellowship brought special skills, Legolas's were: *Keen Senses and Archery Skills* *He can walk without leaving footprints* *He sleeps with his eyes open* *He can sneak up on you without you noticing* *If you give him good cause to kill you'll be dead before you see him readying his bow* The name "Legolas" is a dialectal of the Woodland Elves,meaning "greenleaf" which is a appropriate name indeed.
