Yahoo! <tag> Commands

Yes, there are still Yahoo! commands that you may use, instead of clicking a button.  In order to use these commands you must type (In the space that you use to send a message) something like:
"Look I can make this <green>turn green!!!"  The part in the <>'s is a tag that yahoo uses in order to do the command.  (The < always begins the tag, and the > ends it.)  The line above with the green tag would show up on the yahoo communication board like this:

YourName:  Look I can make this turn green!!!

As you can see the part within the <>'s doesn't show when you hit the send button or press enter.  Yes you can put more than one Yahoo! Tag in a sentance but they must be seperated like this: "Look how smart I am I can make this line turn<green> green then <purple> PURPLE!!!"  Also besides colors you can make things underlined, etc.  The underline, italics, and bold commands are slightly different though.  With the colors, if you wanted to go back to a different color, all you had to do was just tag in a new color, with the underline, etc. you need to shut them off when you don't want them.  In order to shut them off you put a / in the tag before them such as </i>.  That would turn off the italics.  Say you wanted to make a line that looked like this "Wow, you are Way cool!".  Notice how the person only underlined the word way.  In order to do something like that you need to use 2 tags, the first to start the underline and the second to stop it.  So what you type in would look like this:

Wow, you are <u>Way</u> cool!

Yahoo! /front Commands

Ok now lets talk about "front commands".  Just like before you type them in the send input box and either hit enter or push the send button.  There commands are different from <tag> commands so you may want to read this.  Front commands always start with a / and they are always typed at the begining of a sentance.  Most front commands you only type /command and it will do something. (/time will give you the time etc.) Those commands are basically easy to understand and I doubt you should have trouble with those.  Since those are realatively easy to understand I will move onto the harder two.  The first of which is putting a : infront of what you type.  No matter what you type, if you put a : infront of it it turns whatever follows it into an action. (An action is understood to be a brightish pink color, that users in yahoo are familiar with).  Ok with the first one down we will move onto the second, the /think command.  If you want to talk Out Of Character this is the command to use.  It will make the . o O (Your text) come up.  Just as before you put the command /think in the begining of the line and after it you type what you want in the *bubbles* and it will put it on the screen for you.  As an example if you typed "/think This is only a test!" (Without the ""'s of course) it would show up like this after you hit enter:

YourName . o O ( This is only a test!)

That sums up just about everything you need to know about commands to start RPing.  For a list of the commands go back to my main page and click on Command List.  Also you need to know that in order to understand things in Yahoo! better, you need to be willing to try things out.  My articles are only to start you off, what you do after reading them is all up to you.
