Gender/Age: Female, late twenties Rank: Cathair Utopian's Cathairte Location: Cathair Utopia; her cathair Relatives: Younger sister Taite, starry dragon Umuminaenth, her mate Ambrek; parents dead Physical description: 5'3", very curvy, small shapely bust, long, strong legs, short torso. Small hands with long, tapered fingers and slightly chewed nails. Soft olive skin, almost golden-brown; short, dark, tight masses of curls to the nape of her neck. Very large, lively dark brown eyes, lots of long, dark eyelashes, and arched, full dark eyebrows. An oval face, with soft, pleasant features; full lips and a nice, small nose. Although Anaess loves to wear flashy or elegant dresses, she prefers to wear tunics and pants, in rich, deep colors like red, green, purple and brown, and plain colors for the pants like brown, cream, or khaki. Emotional/Mental description: Anaess is highly sensitive--don't make her mad! She becomes irritated easily, but most of the time she is passive and kind, and likes to help people. She has a very giving nature, but to back up her soft heart she has a strong will and sharp mind. She can be very fierce when she or others that she has a bond with are threatened or abused. Skills: Anaess is very maternal. She is also very literate, although her skill with numbers is not that great. She is a good swimmer, climber, and runner, and has fairly good stamina. She doesn't get sick easily, and isn't afraid of much. Anaess is a skillful leader and dragonrider. History: Anaess was born into a loving family(that's where she got her confidence, inner strength, and loving nature). At the age of fifteen she Imprinted Starry Umuminaenth, and with a small band of Riders built Cathair Utopian. Notes and special information: Anaess has an empathy for humans and animals alike. Any children of Anaess will inherit at least some of her skills, physical beauty, and emotional strengths. Pets/Hobbies/Possessions: Anaess owns three little dragonchen from a no longer functioning chen agency: grey male Zendri, special animal female Banzai, and male tan Mifki. She also imprinted starry queen Umuminaenth. Anaess's hobbies include running a Cathair, reading, writing, and Riding her dragon. Some of her prized possessions are her books and her clothing. |

Anaess patted Umuminaenth's side fondly. "I'm rather proud of you, darling," the Cathairte said, "your first clutch, and eighteen eggs! And all are hatched now, including the eight sent to the Festival of Flight, which has also concluded. I hope that I can expect more clutches like that in the future, Umi." Of course you can. I am a starry, after all. "Yes you are love, and the Queen, the best starry around!" Umuminaenth rumbled happily, and nuzzled Anaess's arm to get her to scratch riiiight above the eye ridges, that horribly itchy spot. The starry's bond obliged with a laugh. Quickly her expression sobered, and the pensive look on her face made it plain she was deep in thought. "Umuminaenth?" Yes? "Will you still want Undasheth to chase you, next time? And---catch you?" If he can still catch me, he will be worthy of my love. "But do you want him to catch you?" Umuminaenth sighed. If you must know, yes, I do wish him to catch me in chase, little Cathairte. Anaess smiled contentedly and snuggled down in the warm hide of her dragon, deciding to take a little snooze. |

When you walk in, Anaess looks up, startled awake from her nap. "Why, hello," she says graciously, a warm smile on her lovely face. "I'm Anaess, the Cathairte." "Yes, I know," you reply, nervously. Anaess's lips curve again in a sweet smile, to reassure you. Umuminaenth stares at you, blue eyes curious but not threatening. "Why are you here?" asks Anaess. "Well," you begin, "I'm here because I was Found, by a Huntrider." "Well yes, of course. Wonderful." Anaess beams. "Let's take a look at them, Umuminaenth." Very well. Come closer, stranger. You gasp as you hear the rich voice in your head. Anaess grins. "She spoke to you?" You nod. "That's good. She must have accepted your presence. Umi takes a look at all the candidates bound for Utopian's sands, whether the clutch is hers or not." |

"There are currently no clutches open, but that lovely dragon Iris will soon be caught, and then there should be a nice little clutch on the sands. Until then, you're free to spend some time in the Cathair." Anaess turns to her dragon. "What do you think? Will this person make a good candidate for the next clutch?" Umuminaenth looks once more at you, very closely, before returning her verdict: I believe they would. Your heart swells with pride and Anaess grins at you. "Well, then!" |

I wish people wouldn't come barging in all the time, complained Umuminaenth. It's enough to make a dragon eat her tail! Anaess was busy cleaning her cathair and office, while dragonchen wheeled around their heads. She paused to look at Umuminaenth, hands on her hips. "Do stop your fussing, Umi," she chided gently, "they can't help it. They're told to come in here for advice. After all," she added with tongue-in-cheek candor, "I am the wise and noble Cathairte!" And she struck a haughty pose, her face straining under the desire to laugh. Umuminaenth, however, did not refrain from a snort of rather unlady-like draconic laughter. Wise! Noble! How funny, Anaess. And here I thought you were young, inexperienced, and silly. How wrong I was, grandmother! Anaess whapped her dragon with a rag. "Hmph. You aren't nearly as silly as Kith was, but you are nearly humorless, and that is worse. You're no grandmother yourself, at least not yet!" Umuminaenth did not deign to answer, ignoring Anaess instead. The Cathairte patted her dragon's enormous side, staring at her own swollen belly. "Well, at least you're not the only one with a huge stomach," she said, grimacing. "Pretty soon I'll have my own hatchling to deal with." Umuminaenth nodded, but looked regretful. I miss my young ones, she murmured sadly, they grow up and are stolen from my side so quickly. Anaess nodded sympathetically. "Poor Umi. I was sad to see them go, too." |

Anaess walked over to stand by the cradle, staring at the gauzy purple curtains that shrouded the little mattress, sheets, and tiny pillow. "Only a matter of time now, Umi," she said, touching the lavender-painted wood with one finger. Umuminaenth nodded her great head and crooned along as Anaess began to hum a lullaby. |

Umuminaenth bugled loudly, and no less ear-piercing did her bond cry out amidst her labors. Ambrek was in the middle of watching his dragon feed, but as soon as he heard the massive starry's bugle than did he forget what he was doing and sprinted as fast as he could to the side of the Cathairte. Her face was nearly purple by then. Thank goodness you're here, said Umuminaenth huffily, and it's about time. Honestly, men are the laziest creatures... Ambrek grinned up at the starry dragon, trying not to wince as Anaess cracked just about every bone in his hand. "Not so tightly, kinna heir," he murmured, and Anaess fixed him with a murderous gaze and squeezed even harder. "When you have to go through this, you can call the shots," she hissed, "but I'm a bit busy right now to be worrying about your hand." Ambrek laughed gently and went to fetch a cold cloth to put over the Cathairte's forehead. When he returned, she was holding a little, squawling bundle in her arms and gazing at it in adoration. Ambrek put the cloth over Anaess's head, chuckling in admiration over the child. "And who is this?" he asked softly, smiling. Umuminaenth rumbled and Anaess looked up at her lover, glowing with satisfaction and happiness. "This is your daughter, Avirie." |
