| Hey, you! Vimyth's cry was loud and demanding, as befit such a princely dragon. However, he was speaking to his bond, an actual Prince. Who was not used to being addressed in such an impertinent manner. "What do you want?" Yvastle asked, irritatedly. He and his sister had been playing a quiet game of chess, their dragons talking in muted tones in the corner of the room. We'd like to fly now, please, Kialyth said, more politely and in the demure tone of a proper lady. Rivantle shook her head with a fond smile. "We'll see about that, when you're older..." And hey, look, they are! |

| The dragons had indeed grown; their mighty stature impressed even the larger dragons of Cathair Utopian. The nobles reasoned that it must have been because of that little extra color given to each dragon, but no matter what the reason, they were splendid specimens of power and skill. Vimyth knew that, and he reminded everyone hourly what a fantastic dragon he was. I am superb, I am divine, Vimyth crowed, I am-- About to be smacked, if you don't shut up, his sister Kialyth interjected. Her voice was sharp and loud, and the red-eyed look she gave Vimyth served to quiet him, at least for the time being. He spread his wings and vaulted into the air, swooping down to land among a group of lady dragons, sunning themselves by the lake. Kialyth could see him flirting with them, and her mood, which had already been irritated, flared with indignation. Brother or not, he shouldn't be allowed to waste so much attention on those girls down there. I am ten times the lady than any of them put together! she announced. Rivantle looked over with a worried expression on her face. "Are you feeling quite alright, darling?" she asked of her dragon. Fine, fine, never better, the green-blue snapped, lying on the cliff outside the cathair and sulking. Rivantle eyed her suspiciously. Kialyth was in her prime, glowing and gorgeous... Ah-hah! Rivantle thought, snapping her fingers, she has been glowing rather radiantly for about a week...I think I'd better do something about that... "Sweetheart, how would you feel about taking a little trip? I have a list of Cathairs right here; you could pick one and we'd make a visit, maybe stay for a week or two. You could get to know some of the resident dragons..." It seemed to Rivantle that Kialyth perked up a little bit. ...Other dragons? She coughed, her eyes going pinkish. ...Male dragons? Rivantle laughed. "Of course, if you like. Now, where do you want to go?" Vimyth, meanwhile, was already busy, far away...in Calyeni, with a certain golden beauty by the name of Xiylandith. As to whether the current clutch was his doing or not, nobody knew--the sire was uncertain..or, rather, Vimyth thought it was him, and all the other potentials thought it was them... It remains to be seen! |
