| The Words of Eternal Life John 6:60-71 Then many of the disciples who were listening said, "This is hard; who can accept it?" Since Jesus knew that his disciples were murmuring about this, he said to them, "Does this shock you? What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? It is the spirit that gives life. But there are some of you who do not believe." Jesus knew from the beginning the ones who would not believe and the one who would betray him. And he said, "For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is greanted him by my Father." As a result of this, many of his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer followed him. Jesus then said to the Twelve, "Do you also want to leave?" Simon Peter answered him, "Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We are convinced and have come to believe that you are the Holy One of God." Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you twelve? Yet is not one of you a devil?" He was refering to Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot; it was he who would betray him, one of the Twelve. |

| Prayer Jesus chose people from all walks of life to be his Twelve. Fishermen, tax collecters, and educated men. They left everything to follow this man. This man who spoke of drinking His blood and eating His flesh. How strange that must have sounded to his disciples. So strange that some said that they just couldn't believe it. So they left. But the Apostles did not leave. Peter's answer seems so simple, but do we really believe it, or better yet show that we believe it? In many instances no we do not. We put our faith in things; not in Him. Just as the one Apostle who should have been the one to understand Jesus did. The young, educated man named Judas. O Lord, help me to turn to You in a situations. I know that if I cry "help" you will come; for only You have to words of Eternal Life. ~Amen~ But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord!
