Since the birth of Mr. Draco Malfoy's heir, every news reporter has been trying to get information. Only the closest family members and Mrs. Malfoy's midwife have been allowed in Malfoy Manor since the birth. Mid-wife, Padma
Patil was the first
person to emerge from the Manor after the birth. Her statements to
the press were limited. "Mrs. Malfoy's labor and delivery went
extremely well in spite of the baby's size. He is .8 kg heavier than
an average newborn baby. Mother and baby are both happy and healthy.
Ginny was up and walking one hour after the birth." The maternal grandparents were located the day after the birth of their 13th grandchild. "Our daughter Ginny and our newest grandson are doing very well. He's a big boy already. Draco is doing a lovely job taking care of them.", said Mrs. Weasley. "He's special, born at the 13th minute, of the 13th hour on the 13th day of a month and it was a Friday also.", added Mr. Weasley. Muggles may believe that this is unlucky, but pure-blooded wizards know of the ancient magical powers that this day holds. It is believed that Merlin was born on Friday, the 13th. On Monday, December 16th, I was able to talk briefly to Mr. Lucius Malfoy outside of the Malfoy International Offices. "My grandson is the picture of health. He reminds me of his father as a newborn except Tyl has my wife's eyes. Ginevra is doing well. She is an exceptional mother and wife. Draco could not have married better." Mrs. Narcissa Malfoy has been seen
around Diagon Alley many times since the birth. But the paternal
grandmother states that she is too busy to give us an interview. She
will quickly say "My grandson and his parents are doing well.
We can't be happier or busier. New babies are a great deal of work,
dear." Mrs. Narcissa Malfoy has been busy arranging; nappy
services to the Manor, the Christening needs, placing both birth and
christening announcements with the printers, and anything else her son's
new family needs. She is determined to do whatever it takes so the
new family can enjoy this special time together. The tight lips of the family members started to loosen up on Wednesday. Rumors were all over wizarding England about the newborn, his father, and his mother. I was lucky enough to run into Mr. Draco Malfoy, two hours before this addiction of the Prophet went to print. Mr. Malfoy, who was at the Prophet office delivering his son's birth announcement, agreed to give me 10 minutes of his time. Printed below is my interview with Mr. Draco Malfoy:
PR: Congratulations, Mr. Malfoy (he nods) I only have a couple of questions for you today. First, it is wizarding tradition that both the maternal and paternal grandmother attend the birth to help the mother labor. Is it true that you were also in attendance? And if so why? Mr. Malfoy: Yes I was there. Gin was in her eighth month and a bit scared about the birth, she asked if I would be there for her. I didn't think it was a good idea but I couldn't deny her. I couldn't image missing it now. It was the most amazing thing I've even seen. Gin was bloody brilliant. I'll never forget the look on her face when we both heard our son's first cry. He's an incredibly strong little bloke. Handsome of course, second in beauty only to his gorgeous mother.
PR: Rumor has it that you never put your son down, that he is always in your arms or laying on your chest? Mr. Malfoy: Just why should I put him down!! My arms and chest are stronger, warmer, safer, and much more loving then any old crib. I have to let Gin hold him too. He does need to nurse! Thankfully, she lets me cuddle her while she's cuddling and/or nursing him.
PR: We heard that you
son's nanny is an Irish squib. Mr. Malfoy: My son doesn't have a nanny. Gin and our mothers are looking after our son. My mother loves helping with Tyl, as does my mother-in-law.
PR: When will you and your wife be returning to work? Mr. Malfoy: Luckily
things are always slow around the office this time of year. I don't
need to go back until after the holidays. Gin's mother will come to
the manor every morning after I return to work.
Mr. Malfoy was very enthusiastic when speaking of his son. He appeared very excited and inspired by the changes in his life over the last 10 months. This reporter believes that the rumors about Mr. Malfoy's smile are true. I'm sure it hasn't left his face since his son's birth. The Daily Prophet would like to wish good health and happiness to the newest Malfoy family member. |
