The wedding will take place on March 9th, 2002, at Malfoy Manor.

I bet it will never happen!
Reporter Daniel Infidelis

Before their engagement announcement was printed, bets were on as to whether or not the Malfoy / Weasley wedding would ever take place.  The fact that both come from very old pure blood wizarding families seems to be the only thing these two have in common.  The Malfoy / Weasley families have had different opinions and have been on different ends of the social ladder for 50 years.

Family insiders tell us the couple has an on again off again relationship that began in September of 1998.  "Draco's seventh year, you would always see them together.  He would even sit at the Gryffindor table with her a couple times a week.  She was pure back then because Draco had a girl on the side just for shagging.  Ginny nearly hexed his bits off when she found out about it.  Lucky git that Malfoy, she learned about it after his graduation.  It took three months of reading love poems outside her bedroom window, and two months of love letters owled to her at school before she took him back."

"Draco did something wrong again the night of Ginny's graduation.  They were broken up for six weeks.  I was surprised when I saw her engagement ring.  I didn't think the bloke would get her to say yes."

An old classmate of Mr. Malfoy stated, "He only wants in her knickers.  She's a bloody cherry, and Draco's been trying to pick it for 3 years.  Now, that they're engaged she'll give in.  He'll pop her and take that ring back."

Another 2001 Hogwarts graduate claims, "Draco only wants her because Potter wants her.  Ginny will see that before the wedding and dump Malfoy."

"I think it's strange that you have only four people willing to give you information about Draco and Ginny and I'm the only one who is letting you print my name", states Pansy Parkinson.  "Everyone needs to stop talking and be happy for them.  They're soul mates for Merlin's sake.  Draco was just to dumb to see it.  He broke the girl's heart twice.  If you do it again Draco, I'll hex you myself."

"He showed me her ring, and told me how he was going to propose.  Narcissa advised him to be very romantic because his proposal to Ginny would be one of his children's favorite bedtime stories.  Draco had to agree.  He still loves to hear his mother or father tell their story to him."

When ask about the proposal Ms. Parkinson would only say, "It took place on her birthday.  It was very romantic.  She was extremely surprised.  It's up to Draco and Ginny to share the details with the world."

We can only hope that Ms. Parkinson is right about the couple but we at the Daily Prophet have our doubts.

Only two days after her engagement to Mr. Malfoy, we spotted Ms. Weasley leaving a Irish wizarding pub.  We obtained the picture to your right.  Ms. Weasley and the gentleman shared a kiss before parting.

It appears that this time it is Ms. Weasley who needs to explain her relationship with another man.  This reporter wouldn't put up with his fiancé letting another man paw her in public.  I can't imagine that Mr. Draco Malfoy, last years most eligible bachelor, would either.

A Non-traditional Romantic Tale
Reporter Rita Skeeter

The story of Mr. Draco Malfoy and Miss Ginevra Weasley may be one that breaks some of wizarding traditions but it is a story of true romantic love.  Traditionally an aristocratic wizard would only marry in his own class, but Mrs. Narcissa Malfoy reminded everyone at the engagement party for her son and Miss Weasley, "It is Malfoy tradition to marry for love, dears.  My son loves Ginevra deeply.  I've never seen Draco so jubilant.  Miss Weasley is also a Prewitt descendant.  The Prewitt's were an aristocratic family.  Both the Weasley and Prewitt bloodlines are as old as the Malfoy and Blacks."

According to numerous party attendees, Witch Weekly's Most Eligible Bachelor of 2000 and 2001, is exhilarated with now being un-eligible. "Draco wouldn't leave Ginny's side tonight.  I can't blame him, she's perfect for him.  He's loved her since his seventh year.  The git was just to stubborn to admit it.", expressed Mr. Gregory Goyle.  Mr. Malfoy's best friend.

"Greg's all wet about that", according to Mr. Seamus Finnigan, Mr. Malfoy's partner during the war.  "Draco's been in love with Ginny since his days with the Order.  Draco was a great prat about it.  That's why they had two breakers in the past three years."

"They been together for the last 14 months." Mrs. Megan Finnigan reminds her husband of six months.  "They haven't had a row in ages.  Which is surprising.  I mean her brother Ron and Harry are always on her about dumping Draco.  And neither of their fathers were happy about them being together.  There was a lot of pressure pushing them apart but they have learned to hold on tight."

"That's all behind them now.", stated a very pregnant Hermione Weasley, wife of the bride-to-be's brother Ron.  "Ron and Harry are going to shut it.  Molly and Mrs. Malfoy have laid the law down to their husbands too."

The Weasley and Malfoy patriarchs have put down their wands for the children's love.  "Lucius has always given Draco whatever his heart desired." said a family friend of Mr. Lucius Malfoy.  "I don't think it was as hard for Lucius as you may think.  Miss Weasley is a pure-blood after all.   The Weasley are known for their breeding numbers too.  Lucius and Narcissa wanted more children but can't have them.  I think they are both hoping for a Manor full of grandchildren."

The Senior Malfoys may get a large number of grandchildren, but it looks unlikely at this point they will live in the Manor.  It has been Malfoy tradition for the Bride-to-be to move into the wing of the Manor she and her future husband would make their home after marriage.  Miss Weasley did not.  Mr. Malfoy bought a penthouse in London for her.  The couple will live there after the wedding.  The memory of the Chamber of Secrets may keep the Senior Malfoys from their future grandchildren.  Only time can tell.

Although the press was not allowed in the Engagement party, I was able to obtain photos of the dress and the jewelry worn by the bride-to-be.

This dress is a one of a kind designed by the famous wizard "Amarkus".  It was a birthday gift from Mrs. Malfoy.  It is rumored that this dress was worn by Miss Weasley the night of Mr. Malfoy's proposal.  Amarkus will be designing Miss Weasley's wedding dress, and her attendants dresses.

Plans for the wedding are already taking place.

Miss Weasley wear this set of jewelry to her engagement party.  Mr. Malfoy gave her this set of jewelry for her birthday.  The jewelry was designed by Puchre.  It follows the Malfoy tradition of emerald and diamonds.

The necklace is sterling silver with two one-carat brilliant cut flawless diamonds of prefect color with a brilliant cut three-carat emerald in the center.

The earrings each have 1/4-carat diamond with a 1/2-carat emerald.

The bracelet is 28 stone alternating from emerald to diamonds with a four-carat total.

Miss Weasley engagement ring is also designed by Puchre.  The band is sterling silver.  The diamonds are perfect color, cut, and clarity.  They each are 1.5 carats in size.  The center emerald is three-carats.  Her ring matches her engagement jewelry set.

Mr. Malfoy commissioned the jewelry in May of this year.  He also had their wedding bands made at the same time.

The bride-to-be's band is 2 cm wide, the sterling silver band has four emeralds and three diamonds alternating.
The groom-to-be's is 4 cm wide,  the sterling silver band has four emeralds and three diamonds alternating.

Miss Weasley also wears a sterling silver ring with three small diamonds on each side of a heart shaped peridot gem.  Peridot is Miss Weasley's birthday stone.  Mr. Malfoy purchased the ring to the left at the time he picked up Miss Weasley's engagement set.  This ring was likely an additional birthday present.

In this reporters opinion, Miss Weasley was one lucky witch on her 21st birthday.
