The Draco Lucius Malfoy Family

One of the oldest bloodlines in the wizarding world, the young Malfoy family have been the hardest family to obtain photographs of since Draco Lucius Malfoy's and Ginerva Molly Malfoy's (nee Weasley) wedding on March 9th, 2002.   This pure-blooded aristocratic family is highly protective of their privacy.  Once a year the Malfoy's allow us a small look into their private life.  This year they have agreed to share a limited number of pictures of their children to promote their Christmas Charity Event for St. Mungo's Children Center for Lethal Diseases.  The Event takes place Saturday, December 19th 3:00 pm to midnight at Malfoy Manor.   Tickets are 250 galleons* each.  Cocktails, a stage show, dinner, and dancing  are just part of this event.   The Malfoy's first child, Tyl was born 9 months after their wedding.  In March of 2007, Tyl acquired the lethal disease Golem Fever.  Tyl's chances for survival were increased from 15% to 50% because his parents had the means to provide him with a personal Potions Master, and the rarest ingredients.   In December of 2008, the Malfoy held their first Christmas Charity Event.  Ginerva Malfoy stated, "The survival of a child should not be based on his/her parents wealth."    Tyl turns 13 in December.  He is a 2nd year Slytherin at Hogwarts.  He currently has three boys and two sisters.  Mrs. Ginerva Malfoy is still a young witch of only 34.  Only time will tell if Tyl will have more siblings.

There was an ice storm the night of his birth.  The trees on the Manor grounds were covered with ice causing the grounds to sparkle beautifully when hit by the morning sun.  "Nature was celebrating the birth of our little prince." according to Narcissa Malfoy.    

Many people say that Tyl looks like a Malfoy, but he favors Narcissa.  His hair is golden blond and his eyes are her blue color.  It's not surprising that he is grandmother's little boy.

Tyl charmed us all at the age of 3 1/2, when as the ring bearer at the Ward / Goyle wedding, he saved the day by quickly calming the little flower girl's tears after her fall.  He started her back down the aisle by agreeing to hold her hand.  His statement to the Daily Prophet reporter that day was, "I only like to hold Mummy's, Grandmother's, and Grandma's hands.  I don't like touching other girls. But I did it for Uncle Greg.  He gave me a real great handkerchief today.  It had the Malfoy crest and my monogram on it just like daddy's and Grandfather's.  To bad I had to give it to that girl to dry her tears.  Daddy says you never ask for them back."   

Tyl is named after his father.  Ginny Malfoy wanted to name him Draco Lucius Malfoy Jr, but Draco wouldn't agree.  Ginny did the next best thing.  Tyl is a star in the constellation Draco.

Mr. & Mrs. Malfoy were at the Parkinson's New Year Eve Party when her contractions started.  She was only in labor for 3 hours before Orion made his entrance into this world at 12:11 am.  The Malfoy family had always set off fireworks to celebrate the New Year at 12:00.   Lucius Malfoy was upset that the house elves were late that year until they explained, that they had delayed them in order to celebrate the birth also.  The Malfoy's New Year fireworks have started at 12:11 am ever since. 

Orion is a real mix of Weasley and Malfoy not only in looks but in personality.  Molly Weasley believes that Orion only has the best parts of all her children and his father.  Lucius agrees that Orion is very special.  People flock to him.  He's the smartest of the lot and the most popular.  He is favored by his Grandma Weasley.

Being only 13 months younger than Tyl, they are best mates.  Tyl's first year at Hogwarts was hard on both of them.  Orion told Narcissa, "Grandmother, it feels like part of me is missing."  Lucius give each boy a two-way mirror to help them though the year.  

Orion is presently a 1st year Slytherin at Hogwarts where he and his brother, Tyl, have just finished serving a month of detentions.  Their crime was stealing the Sorting Hat, threatening to rip its seams out and make it into rags if it didn't place Orion in Tyl's house.  The family believed that the hat would place Orion in Gryffindor, or maybe Ravenclaw, but never Slytherin.  The Sorting Hat denies that the threats had anything to do with Orion's house placement.     

Orion's name follows the Black family tradition of naming child after stars or constellations.  His middle name comes from his maternal Great Grandfather Weasley.

Imagine having your daddy take you to a Halloween party and coming home to a new baby brother.  That's what happened to Tyl and Orion.  Lucky for Draco, he didn't stay for a meade.  He  had decided to drop the boys off because his wife was feeling tired.  Her water broke as he entered their bed chamber.  Pyxis was born 2 hours later.

Pyxis is all Weasley when it comes to appearance, but all Malfoy in personality.  There are only two places that Pyxis will get his hands dirty; the potions lab, and the Quidditch patch.  While Orion will wear Tyl's old robes, Pyxis will not wear anything that wasn't tailored for him.  Ginny used to fight with him over this.

He is ever the aristocrat.  The house elves draw his bath and lay out his clothes.  By age 4, Ginny would have Lucius help Pyxis get dressed.  Only grandfather understood the importance to have pressed undershirts and boxers under your dress robes.  Tyl, Orion, and even Draco had a good half hour laugh listening to Ginny, Pyxis, and Lucius discuss this topic.  Ginny said, "Oh for Merlin's sake, why don't you just have the elves starch you underthings too."  "Ginevra didn't be ridiculous" Lucius expressed.  "Mummy", added Pyxis, "starched boxers would be uncom....  wouldn't feel good".

He is Lucius' best mate.  He would sit in grandfather's study and discuss business while Tyl and Orion would collect the needed fresh potion ingredients from the creek.  Once his brothers gathered the items, the three boys and Lucius would disappear into the Potions lab for hours.

There is no doubt in everyone mind that Pyxis will be joining his brothers in Slytherin house in two years.

His middle name comes from one of Grandma Molly's brothers.  

After Pyxis' birth the Weasley family come up with the nicknames of Ty, Ry, and Py for the boys.

Lynx was a very welcome surprise.  In March of 2007, Tyl come down with Golem Fever.  Ginny got the news of Tyl's recovery and her pregnancy the same day.  She never thought that her new baby would be born on Tyl's birthday until she starting having backaches at 8:30 pm.  Lynx was born 2 1/2 hours later.

Tyl thought he should get to name the new baby because now he would have to share his birthday with him.  Tyl wanted the name to be Leo Abraxas Malfoy.  Draco thought Leo was to common for a Malfoy.  (That's what he said.  But I think it had more to do with Leo being a lion, like the Gyrfindder lion.)   Ginny and Draco agreed to name him Lynx.  

Lynx looks like a clone of Draco.  He dresses like his dad all the time.  He wants to be just like Draco.  While his three brothers want to be Chasers (Tyl and Orion are chasers for their house team currently), Lynx is going to be a seeker like daddy.  Pyxis calls Lynx, "daddy's shadow".   Lynx's answered, "Tyl and Orion have each other.  Pyxis is always with Grandfather. So, I get Daddy.  I think my brothers and Grandfather are nice, but Daddy is the greatest "

Before he started school, Lynx went to the office with Draco at least once a week.  Draco got him a little desk, and the boy would sit for two or more hours pretending to do paper work like daddy.  Tyl and Orion would join in the pretending from home by sending owls to Lynx.  Business lunches were arranged when the older boys weren't in school.  

Lynx is named after his Great Grandfather Malfoy.

Once Lynx was born, Draco started bothering Ginny to have one more try at a girl. After a year of his nagging, she gave in.  

Their twins girls decided to showed up a month early.  Their were the best Valentines present, Draco and Ginny have given one another.  While Ginny was nursing their newborn daughters, one on each breast, she said,  "Mr. Malfoy, I do believe this was the best idea you have had."  Ever being the charmer Draco replied, "I beg to defer, my love.  Marrying you was my best idea.  Trying for them was my second best."  

Carina is a copy of her mother and Cassie is a copy of her Grandmother Malfoy.  These little princess have ruled the Manor since birth.  They have everyone but Ginny wrap around they fingers.  Neither Draco nor Lucius can sit down in a parlor without one or both of the girls jumping into their lap.  

Orion has said of his sisters, "If you have something and they want it.  You might as well just give it to them.  Their first word was MINE!"   

NO!  This is not a Malfoy child.  It's an old photo of Uncle Fred's Eddy.   The children wouldn't let us display their pictures unless we showed his too.  "HE MAKES US LAUGH!" stated the twins.

*  1 galleon is equal to 5 English pounds or $7.33 US.  So a ticket to the Malfoy event would be  $1832.50
