Paradise Reclaimed

Early sunlight dances through a shadowy glade
Golden beams filter into leafy filigrees
A forest canopy becomes our verdant shade
As we stand guarded by this circle of trees

Birds call out in a thousand twittering ways
Fluttering butterflies brush against our faces
And our heart's desire grows, wishing all our days
Could be spent here amongst these perfumed traces

In this beautiful Eden far from prying eyes
We rededicate our love for one another,
Knowing that when love is cherished, it never dies
But grows and flourishes in the heart of each lover

With paradise reclaimed, love's realm quite recovered
We spend this sacred time in each other's embrace
Refreshing ourselves in passions rediscovered
We've found the precious secret of our treasured place

For I, in loving you, and you, in loving me,
Have discovered that paradise is always near
We carry it with us wherever we may be
As long as we are together, alone, my dear
