Suit-less woman warrior
Donned by only the blush of blood
Covered by a fine film of innocence
Brimming with corruption
Knowing too much
Expressing too little
Labeled as the stupid youth of America.
Tornadoes of thoughts ravage the mind’s bowels
Making it bleed with realizations
Too true for Joe Public to admit.
The non-thinkers pat her on the head
She’s too young
She
doesn’t understand the real world
She
has no idea what it’s like for my husband to work
So
we can afford our Cadillac Escalade to take the kids
To their private piano lessons.
NO.
They don’t know
Or care to ask.
They use assumptions and stereotypes
She uses her head
To strive
To survive
To pay the bills on a mid 80’s rusted car
All the while her voice carries a professional conversation with a faceless man
Who
Gives her the highest respect
Assuming that she wears the suit, blush, and conservative hairstyle that all mature,
Knowledgeable,
Women wear.
