TALLULAH'S INTERVIEW CONTINUED...
As a circus-style performer, what is the most dangerous thing you've done?
My speciality is fire so I have been in some sticky situations. Once I was spinning some fire and burned my leg, but when you're practicing, it's best to wear jeans and stuff- bikini's aren't practical when you're trying something new. My brother got me interested in it, and once told his friends to throw water on him if he caught fire when he was practicing in the garden. He caught on fire and they all stood there and watched. STOP DROP AND ROLL!

Where's the best place to shop?
Oooh, that's a toughie. Everyone seems to think Camden is great. I lived there for 12 years so I didn't find it special. It's nice and everything because there are loads of alternative people and you don't feel odd. I like shopping there for the atmosphere. I feel very safe there but that may just be because I grew up there. For clothes though, I like finding little retro bargains in normal shops like TopShop! It makes me feel good when I find something great for sale that no one else saw! Whereas in Camden some of the prices are extortionate and the quality is crap.

Why is your preferred era between the 1920s-40s?
I like women to look like women. There is a certain effort in that era tha seemed to have gone into people's appearances. I can't stand tights, and that era was all about stockings- which I love! I also love the way men looked then. All suited and booted. My boyfirnd loves the whole 'gangsta' style of dressing, and that's my favourite look for a man. I really want more retro stuff, like hats and gloves but I have no concept of the word 'budget'.

What's the most important quality in a friend?
My friends have to be as loyal as me as I am to them. If someone shows me loyalty I will stick by them to the end. But if someone tries to pull a fast one, I won't forgive them. I like people to be as definite about things as I am.

If you could be someone else for the day, who would you be and what would you do?
I think I'd be... hmmm... someone really famous and gorgeous. I'd love to see how people react if you're famous. I mean, if it's all as bad as they say. The psychologist in me wants to study bossy language and non-verbal behaviours and the egoist in me wants the attention!

When you were younger did you ever guess you'd be where you are now?
Yes. When I was little I wanted to be a rock star. I was about 5 years old and I used to watch MTV all day. I watched bands like Guns and Roses and I knew I wanted to be like that. As I got older I never really lost sight of what I really wanted. I didn't want the money, that's never been a goal for me. I just want the recognition. I want to walk down the street and for people to come up to me and ask for my autograph. I think recently in the press a few stars have been banging on about wanting privacy and I feel that you almost trade that to be what you want to be. I would gladly be photographed for the rest of my life.

If you could speak any language, what would it be?
Russian. I'm not big on languages- I'm emotionally scarred form compulsory French lessons at school!!!

What word can you not spell?
Arthuritus... Artiritus. Is that right?

What do you hate?
Stupid people. I can't stand people that don't know what they're talking about. If you don't know a subject, don't pretend you do. It's like in Big Brother: in the last series there was Helen. I couldn't watch it. I mean "a dove... that's a bird, innit?". All the papers are talking about Jade being think. I don't think she's thick- she just speaks before thinking. But that Helen, she was thick.

Are you bothered that Twiggy has left Marilyn Manson?
Has he??? God! He must have done something really terrible because I thought he and Manson were best mates. Ginger Fish or John 5 wouldn't have been a shock... but Twiggy! I really wanna know what he did now!

Which film do you direct the most criticism at?
I hate all the self-referencing 'teenage' crap. You know the sort. I was watching 'Jeepers Creepers' a while back and there was this bit where the lead girl started off a sentence with "If this was a scary movie..." and I had to be restrained. I love horror films and watching films is one of my favourite past-times. But all this crap is just clogging up the film industry! The first 'Scream' was quite good plot-wise because it hadn't really been done before. But then there was 'Scream 2', and 'Scream 3' had Jay and Silent Bob for christsake!

Is sarcasm really the lowest form of wit?
Some people don't understand wit, so you have to use sarcasm. I don't really believe in labelling things as 'high' and 'low' forms. I use sarcasm all the time. Who was the artist who put high forms of art in a collage with low forms of art like newspaper headlines? That's the way things should be used.

What keeps you going on a bad day?
Alcohol! If I haven't got any of that (which I rarely have!), I rely on talking to people. I'm not the sort of person you should leave alone in a room when I'm sad or angry. I start going insane. I've recently found I do some of my best thinking when I'm having a bad day. I also do some of my best work. I recently did a huge collage of Octave Mirbeau quotes all over it.
would you believe there's still another page?!
home!
