" Silent stories"

Looking at any photo, the usual collection of descriptive words will be invoke in us. Beautiful, breathtaking,   sexy, clear......I think I just ran out of words here but you catch my drift.

Yet as I look at Inagaki Goro's photographs, various feelings and moods transpire according to his facial expression, his poise and the colors around and behind him in the background. The usual words that  tumbled out of my mouth goes along the lines of mystery, life, anger, innocence, sorrow, romance, serenity, a lazy afternoon, sunshine after the rain etcera etcera.

Regardless of what many critics will say, I still firmly believe that he is a very versatile artiste. He is good at  playing with poises and facial and body expressions to create various moods and feelings themes. He will melt into the set and become one with the props and lightings. The message he want to put across is so  strong that there's no mistaking it for anything else than the one intended.

Among my tiny collection is some I truly favored.

There's one of him sitting in a dark armchair in a dark room with light blazing through from an open window behind him.The look of contempt on his face is unmistakable united as one with the overall abandoned feel of the photo's background.

There's another one of him in a purple cotton pullover, crossing his arms and bent over in brusque laughter.  Probably caught "in action" by an alert photographer who is determined to catch the fun side of  Inagaki Goro. The innocence of his laugh, the pure white walls behind him, the simple pullover, the "real"  him.

One very recent photograph of him after a slight but noticable hair cut. All in white, holding his lapels smartly, his chest puffed up in pride, his eyes gleaming and a soft half smile on his beautiful lips. He is showing off his new hair cut with childish pride, he knows he look good.

What about you? Do you have a favorite photo of your favorite person that tells you a story without making saying a word?
