" You must be kidding!" Shingo exclaimed so loudly his voice thundered through the old castle's walls.

" What?!" Unfortunately his father's louder and even more thunderous than his. Shingo cringed with fear and pain in his reverbarating eardrums.

" Stop it, the both of you!" His mother finally spoke up. " Shingo, you shall listen to your father."

" But mom ~" Shingo starts to wail.

" You need training, you wayward child!" His father roared.

" Is that it? Old Fairy Granny is unhappy I destroyed part of her forest today?" Shingo's eyes shone with hope.

" Yes, she's very angry." His mother explains patiently. " But more importantly, we feel it's time you learn how to be a guardian angel. It's your destiny, my child."

Shingo pouts unhappily but when he saw his father glaring at him, he shrunk away.
" Ok." He replies meekly.

" The task is easy enough." His father said calmly. " She is a young female child of 5 years, ailing from a childhood disease which will eventually be cured when she grows older.

" But at this moment, she is a very unhappy child. Your job is to comfort her till she is fit to leave the hospital in 2 months.

" I trust you can't possibly bungle up this job?"

" What's a hospital?" Shingo asks with genuine innocence.

" I have a bad feeling about this." His father mutters worriedly. Turning to his confused son again, " And I forbid you from showing your wings when you leave the magical forest! And no magic allowed too!"

If he is looking from a confirmation, he is greatly disappointed for his son is already lost in the joy of being able to leave the forest and wander in the outside world away from his parents' watchful eyes.

" Yes dad, yes mom." Shingo mutters absent-mindedly.

" Now I am worried too!" His mother agrees.
