Teddy was a best friend to us and always a buddy and companion to the cats. He really tried to be loving and patient with the cats. One of our cats in particular thought Teddy was his Mother/Father. He only wanted to headbutt Teddy, purrrrr and make bread on Teddy's belly. Teddy was not too crazy about this.
Teddy would kiss and slobber us to death while his tail swung so wildly, he beat anyone standing in the way. He touched the lives of everyone he met. He always traveled with us so well, even in the small back seat of our Toyota. He was such a happy camper!
So loving, intelligent and sweet...but sometimes quirky. Teddy won awards for top in his class for obedience, we taught him to be an awesome frisbee dog too. He also made a great running partner for my Hubby. When he saw my Hubby getting ready to go jogging he would get very exited and loved to go along with him.
We reminisce about one Easter when he got hold of all the chocolates while we were out. You just knew when he did something he shouldn't have by his look. His ears would go down and he would have a pouty look on his face. After seeing "the look" you realize....oooooooh nooooooo ....what did you do now? And there is the story of us moving to Florida, when we couldn't get a hotel room with this 100 lb. dog so we made believe he was my seeing eye dog just so we could get a room!! What a laugh that was, I put on my dark sunglasses, stared straight ahead....and he was pulling me fast like a sled dog. Teddy gave us so many memories and wonderful stories to tell.
We know our big baby is resting peacefully in Heaven, waiting for the day we will meet again.
RAINBOW BRIDGEJust this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows
and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and
play together. There is plenty of food, water and
sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent;
His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group,
flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress
the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting
eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life
but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
