Telford Cave System

Telford Spring is an offset spring of the Suwannee River. The spring is on the north side of the river. There are 2 sinkholes, Telford Sink and Terrapin Sink which are upstream from Telford Spring. Telford is known for it's variety of cave formations. Every 500ft or less, the cave passage changes dramatically. There is a land bridge at Telford Spring and it provides a window at the spring. In mid-October, water was green due to the river rising and the flow was kicking.

Telford's Spring has a karst window with a land
bridge of 10ft width at the spring entrance.
Currently the water level is up to the edge of the land bridge.

Telford Cave
Great Expectations section of Telford
My favorite part of the main line
is the Great Expectations and Rolaids
Road section.

Telford Cave
The Gauntlet section of Telford
The Gauntlet is between Great Expectations
and Rolaids Road. This part of the main
passage is more restrictive and delicate.
There has been quite a bit of damage in the
last few years from cavers. Once again,
plowing through a cave by certain cavers
is killing the beauty for others to enjoy.

Telford Cave
Rolaids Road section of Telford
Rolaids Road reminds me of the view
of looking down a person's throat
and into their esophagus. I have no
idea why this section was named but
since it reminds me of the path that
a rolaids would take, perhaps someone
else had the same impression of the passage.

Beginning of Beaulahland section of Telford
Beaulahland opens up into larger passage
that looks similiar to some of the Peacock
passage.

This is the area where the old T in
the line was at the beginning of the
Beaulahland passage. The T has been
removed and replaced with a jump.
