US are to spend US$ 57 million to further the development of this laser
canon, known as 'Nautilus' that can shoot down short-range missiles.
Israel wants the Nautilus to help protect its northern border town from
Katyusha rockets, periodically fired by Lebanese guerrilla group
Hezbollah.

Israeli cannons return fire after Lebanese
Hizbollah guerrillas attacked Israeli positions in the disputed Shebaa
Farms border area October 27, 2003. Lebanese Hizbollah guerrillas and
Israel traded fire in a disputed border area on Monday in the latest
sign of rising tension between Syria and the Jewish state.
