Continental Elite Hockey League (CEHL) action is coming to Traverse City's Center I.C.E. Arena.

Barry Soskin, the Chicago-based owner of the new Traverse City team, has extensive experience in operating minor league hockey and baseball teams.

Soskin owned the Toledo Storm, a former Detroit Red Wings affiliate, for 10 years. During that time, Soskin won back-to-back East Coast Hockey League championships.

Soskin is also the former owner of the Nashville (Tennessee) Blackhawks in the Central Hockey League, the Junior A Waterloo (Iowa) Nighthawks in the United States Hockey League and the Pelham (Alabama) Prowlers in the Southern Elite Hockey League, which won the league championship in the 1999-2000 season. Soskin also formerly owned the Sylvania (Ohio) Sharks of the Great Lakes Baseball League and another baseball team, the Waterloo (Iowa) Bucks in the Northwoods League.
