CELEBRATE BEALTAINE

ON Sunday, May 4 at the Performing Arts Lodge onThe Esplanade we welcomed Spring with an evening of art, music and song with a Special Appearance by the Goddess of Fertility (otherwise known as Comhaltas President Norita Fleming!) We had a good turn out and raised over $2,000 Thanks to Ann Lyons and Barbara Taylor who did the lion's share of the work of putting it all together. Thanks to our performers: October Browne, Norita Fleming, Jonothan Lynn, Greg, Kelly Hood, Shairi McGuirl, Martin Gould and Catherine Crowe. Thanks also to the fine visual artist who participated in the Art Exhibition: Dora Keogh, Ann Lyons, Margaret McClelland, Ann, and Shairi McGuirl.

WELSH BRUNCH:

on March 2 a very successful social brunch was held to celebrate St. Davids Day. While we have had some difficulty in contacting the Welsh community we wanted to mark this day with a little festivity. Several committee members met with others intereted in Welsh and Celtic culture
CEILI:

on November 15, committee member Ann Lyons organised a fundrasing ceili. It was for all ages and levels of experience, beginners and experts alike. There was also some fime entertainment provided by Celtic women of the cvommunity. Other committee members helped set up/donated goodies (Mary Carr, Anne Marie Leonard, Eileen Dwyer) and Treasurer Anjela Bontje did the calling. Special thanks to the fine musicians who played for free: Dennis Lyons, Kevin Finnegan, Steve Jeffries, Jim McGee, Kate McGee, Dave Papazian, Charles Jevane, and committee members Debbie Quigley and Donna McLeod

GARDEN PARTY: on June 29th committee member Lauraine Gardiner had a fundraising Garden Party at her home which included a morning Lawn Sale, an afternoon Garden Party as well as discount hairdressing sessions upstairs. Special thanks to the stylists from Vidal Sassoon who donated their time to help us, all the people who brought the great food, and those who donated items for the lawn sale! It was a lovely afternoon by the pool, and afforded an excellent opportunity to socialise and let people know about our exciting conference.
