OCTOBER BROWNE, guitarist, singer, songwriter

October's career began at the age of 11 on the streets of London, England as she donned cymbals, tambourine, kazoo, harmonica and guitar. This 'one-girl' band took the streets and subways by storm. Today, she still mesmerizes audiences wherever she goes. She befriended the local street buskers who inspired her and taught her the basics of finger-picking. Her first recording was made at the age of 12, with her Woolworth's guitar, in a 25 pence (50 cents) recording booth at Paddington Station.

October eventually moved to Canada and began playing with one of the band's bagpipers Pat O'Gorman, with whom she eventually formed the band Morgaine Le Faye along with Jamie Snider and Andy Stochansky. They flourished for seven and a half years playing concerts and festivals across Canada, as well as releasing two critically acclaimed recordings.

While on the road, October began writing her own songs. Her heartfelt poetry is rich with metaphor, revealing an assured songwriter who has carefully honed her craft. October's debut solo CD is fresh and exciting. Celtic and East Indian influences are seamlessly woven into a pop medium, although her music retains a distinctly British style. It showcases October's haunting vocals and stellar guitar playing.
